In US news today, this Oklahoma City, Oklahoma officer gave a teen a 0.6 second warning before firing his gun. A 911 call incorrectly reported two burglars at an abandoned house. 14-year-old Lorenzo Clerkley Jr. was with friends playing with BB guns in daylight. Clerkley was shot in the right hip and left thigh by the police officer after being given less than a second to comply to the officer’s warning. Clerkley Jr.’s family is filing a civil rights claim against the police department. Clerkley Jr. missed three weeks of school recovering from injuries. The family does not have health insurance and can’t afford the medical bills, including a $1,300 ambulance ride. Oklahoma County District Attorney determined the shooting was justified.

Upon arrival, the officer said he believed they were cap guns
