On October 20, 2020, the Red Bluff Police Department received multiple 911 calls about a man walking in the 300 Block of Gilmore Road carrying a rifle.

Upon officers’ arrival, the man evaded officers but when reappeared, he was confronted by two officers. He then faced them and pointed the gun at them. At the point, one officer fired several rounds at him. He fell on the ground and raised the gun a second time and a second officer fired several rounds at him.

Officers later discovered the man’s gun was an pellet rifle designed to look like a real firearm.
